The classic Nike Waffle Racer sneaker has had a good year in 2019, inspiring a coveted collaboration with Sacai x Nike LDWaffle, along with a trio of Off-White x Nike Waffles to be released this fall. If you are not thrilled with the latest interpretations, the shoe has returned to its original form.
First introduced in 1977, the throwing shoe was invented by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman and manufactured using a waffle iron. The shoe features design elements from its original design, and features a moccasin-style nylon upper that has a vivid blue tone and is complemented by suede suede and yellow Swoosh logo on the sides. The classic model undergoes several modifications, including a memory foam soft insert and a dual-density foam midsole for all-day comfort. The salient feature of the shoe is its waffle rubber outsole in black.
